AGP Meet & Greet a “Hidden Champion” @ Together Healthy Nutrition
Jul 19 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
AGP member and native German, Claudia Anema, will be welcoming us for a Meet and Greet with a “Hidden Champion” at her new storefront, “Together Healthy Nutrition,” in Greystone, which is part of her business, Fit Fun Sun Inc, an international Lifestyle and Health Optimization Business. Her business partner, Alexander Heerman, is from Germany as well.

Come out and meet Fred Edwards, whose company is a “Hidden Champion”.

Fred is an American, originally from Tennessee, who founded Dixi portable toilets in Germany over 50 years ago. The products can now be found in 31 countries and 3 continents. Fred lived in Germany for 25 years and still speaks excellent German.

Not familiar with the expression “Hidden Champion”? It was coined by a German management consultant in 1990 and describes a highly specialized company that dominates its niche as a global market leader and yet remains largely unknown to the public.

Join us and find out how Claudia and Fred met over a German beer sticker 16 years ago and how it led to the grand opening of Together Healthy Nutrition, which has German owners and partners.

Claudia and Alex will be serving samples. Nutritional Healthy Meal Shakes, Energizing Loaded Teas, and other protein snacks can be purchased.

AGP Pretzel Making Class @ Rolf's German Restaurant
Jul 20 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Join our hands-on class and master the art of pretzel making!

Twist, knead, and bake your way to the perfect pretzel under guidance from Rolf Meyer, the owner of the German restaurant, Rolf’s Café & Bistro, in Tuscaloosa.

German soft pretzels trace their roots back to the early Middle Ages. Legend credits Christian monks with inventing the twisted knot to resemble arms folded in prayer or to symbolize the Holy Trinity.

German and Swiss immigrants brought their recipes to North America in the 1700s and 1800s. These immigrants—known as the Pennsylvania Dutch—helped popularize both soft and hard pretzels. Now it is time to try Rolf’s recipe!

German-American Comedian Mario Adrion Performs in Birmingham @ Stardome Comedy Club
Sep 20 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Mario Adrion is a stand-up comedian from a small town in Germany who gained over 3.5 million followers from posting his comedy across various social platforms. His comedy is refreshingly vulnerable, playing with the struggles and stereotypes of being a retired male model and as a European living in the United States. Over the past few years, Mario has been touring “The German EFiciency Tour” around the world, with sold out shows across the US, UK, Europe, and the Middle East. Mario will film his debut hourlong special in January 2026 before embarking on an even bigger international tour, “The Superior Comedy Tour,” in clubs and theaters across the globe. Based out of Los Angeles, Mario is one of the hottest new comics and you don’t want to miss his European charm.
