German Wine Dinner at Bright Star in Bessemer @ Bright Star Restaurant

The Bright Star has fabulous things going on in the month of April. Make plans now to attend their German Wine Dinner featuring wines from Mosel region, Franken region, Pfalz region, Burgenland, Austria region, and Rheinhessen region. Followed with a delicious German inspired dinner.
Course 1:
Currywurst German Bratwurst
-Crispy French fries topped with sliced German bratwurst and currywurst sauce paired with Karthauserhof “Bruno” Dry Riesling 2019, from the Mosel region.
Course 2:
German Baked Snapper in Mustard Cream Sauce
– Fresh fillet of snapper topped with heavy cream and whole grain mustard, baked to perfection. Served with German green bean salad and paired with Hans Wirsching Iphöfer Silvaner 2022, from Franken.
Course 3:
Veal Schnitzel
– Thinly pounded veal tenderloin breaded with panko and lightly fried, served with German potato salad and paired with Becker Pinot Noir 2019, from the Pfalz region.
Course 4:
Beef Rouladen
– Bacon, onions, mustard and pickles wrapped in sliced beef tenderloin over pickled red cabbage paired with Höpler Pannonica Red Blend 2020, from Burgenland, Austria.
Course 5:
German Rote Grütze Dessert
– Fresh red berry compote topped with house made whipped cream paired with Fritz Muller Secco Dry Rose NV, from Rheinhessen.

Come out to network at our monthly “Stammtisch”. This is a great opportunity for German expats to meet and for other German-speaking/practicing to improve their German. Speaking German is encouraged but not required.

What does “Stammtisch” mean? A Stammtisch is an informal group meeting held on a regular basis, and also the usually large table around which the group meets. A Stammtisch is not a structured meeting, but rather a friendly and casual get-together.

Come join us for AGP Young Professionals (age 17 to 39) Social Hour. Learn what the Young Professionals are all about, what being part of the leadership group entails, and mingle with other Young Professionals.

Brock’s Gap Brewing Company has a great selection of beverages and food truck on the premises.

The Young Professionals group is under the AlabamaGermany Partnership umbrella. Its members are students, interns, co-op or employees of either an Alabama-Germany company or institution.

AGP Euro 2024 ‘Germany – Denmark’  Watch Party in Birmingham @ Back Forty Beer Company

Germany has moved on to the round of 16 in UEFA EURO 2024 Soccer Championship.

Join us in Birmingham for the fourth watch party ‘Germany-Denmark’. The venue will be open to the public and can’t reserve tables for us but it is a large room that can accommodate a lot of people. Please feel free to come out early to reserve your spot and hold seats for family and friends.
