Germany Was the Largest International Investor in the U.S. in 2025.

The increase was driven by German multinationals, with $49 billion in new investment.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), the foreign direct investment position in the United States increased by $266.0 billion to reach $5.86 trillion at the end of 2025. Europe led the increase, contributing $182.4 billion to the overall growth.
