| Discover how Calhoun Community College is preparing the next generation of Alabama’s skilled workforce during a tour of the Gene Haas Workforce Training Center. Guests will experience a 57,200-square-foot, state-of-the-art training facility designed to meet the workforce needs of today’s advanced industries while supporting the economic growth of North Alabama.
Attendees will learn about Calhoun’s nationally recognized workforce development programs in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, welding, machine tool technology, mechatronics, CDL, automotive, diesel, and aviation. The tour will also showcase four nationally recognized paid co-op programs: Aerospace Collaborative Education (ACE), Alabama F.A.M.E. Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT), Alliance for Machining Professionals (AMP), and Excellence in Process Industrial Controls (EPIC). These programs connect students with industry partners while preparing them for high-demand, high-wage careers.
Calhoun’s transportation technology programs are helping meet the growing demand for skilled technicians across multiple industries. The college offers hands-on training in Advanced Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, and FAA-certified Aviation Maintenance Technology through Alabama Aviation College, preparing graduates for rewarding careers in the automotive, transportation, and aviation sectors.
