The Alabama Robotics Technology Park (RTP) is a three-building campus dedicated to supporting Alabama’s manufacturing industry by providing world-class, technology-focused training at no cost to Alabama manufacturers and their employees. Since breaking ground in 2009 with a $71 million investment, RTP has grown into a nationally recognized workforce development center. Each building serves a unique purpose, focusing on robotics maintenance, automation and advanced manufacturing, and advanced research and development. RTP is also expanding with a fourth facility, the $30 million EV Technology Center, scheduled for completion in September 2026, which will provide training in electric vehicle production, battery systems, high-voltage safety, robotics, and automation.

During your visit, you will see many of the same industrial robots, automation systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies used in modern production facilities around the world. These technologies support RTP’s mission of developing and delivering customized, technology-focused training and education programs that meet the evolving workforce needs of Alabama’s manufacturing industry.

Hosted by: James Reeves, RTP Center Manager

Discover how Calhoun Community College is preparing the next generation of Alabama’s skilled workforce during a tour of the Gene Haas Workforce Training Center. Guests will experience a 57,200-square-foot, state-of-the-art training facility designed to meet the workforce needs of today’s advanced industries while supporting the economic growth of North Alabama.

These programs connect students with industry partners while preparing them for high-demand, high-wage careers.

Calhoun’s transportation technology programs are helping meet the growing demand for skilled technicians across multiple industries. The college offers hands-on training in Advanced Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, and FAA-certified Aviation Maintenance Technology through Alabama Aviation College, preparing graduates for rewarding careers in the automotive, transportation, and aviation sectors.
