| Come out to network! This is a great opportunity for German expats to meet and for other German speaking/practicing to improve your German. Speaking German is encouraged but not required. We meet every month (every other month will be in Birmingham).
What does “Stammtisch” mean? A Stammtisch is an informal group meeting held on a regular basis, and also the usually large table around which the group meets. A Stammtisch is not a structured meeting, but rather a friendly and casual get-together. PLEASE NOTE THE NEW LOCATION! Register Here! |

Dr. Peter Buhrmann directs the Association of Rural Folk High Schools (Volkshochschulen) in Germany. A Danish citizen working in Berlin, he oversees forty-six residential schools that are financed by the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as well as the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. In his talk, Dr. Buhrmann will explain how these schools seek to address radicalism and educate the German people to ensure the stability of democracy in increasingly divisive times.
