AGP Golf Tournament – A Swing for German Language Education

Please join us for a day of networking and a swing of golf for German language education on be beautiful Valley Course at the RTJ Golf Trail of Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham. All proceeds goes to the AGP Educational Fund. Four-person scramble that can be entered as a team or individual. Reserve your spot today! Don’t play? No problem; plenty of opportunities to sponsor. Shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m. Registration fees include green fee, cart fee, range balls, tournament scoring, breakfast and lunch; and opportunities to bring home an award and/or prizes. Tournament is LIMITED to 72 Golfers.

AGP REHAU Automotive & German Christmas Pyramid with German Consul Moltmann

Join us for an afternoon in Cullman where we will celebrate the town’s German heritage with German Consul General Melanie Moltmann.

We will start with a visit and tour of the first German supplier to Mercedes-Benz to locate in Alabama – REHAU Automotive. Followed by a visit to the Cullman County Museum to learn more about the town’s German founder and history.

We will end the program with Consul Moltmann officially lighting the German Christmas Pyramid (the tallest in the US) to mark the German Christmas Market (Christkindlmarkt) in Cullman OPEN for the season.

AGP German Business Committee Briefing on Tariffs @ VIRTUAL

Please plan to join us for a Zoom call presentation next Thursday, February 13, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE THIS CALL IS ONLY FOR MEMBERS OF THE AGP GERMAN BUSINESS COMMITTEE/GERMAN COMPANIES IN ALABAMA. 
We will be joined by Lee Smith, who leads Baker Donelson’s International Trade and National Security team.
On the call, Lee will do an overview of the new tariffs under the America First Trade Policy, including a 25 percent tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, a reduced ten percent tariff on Canadian energy, and a ten percent tariff on Chinese imports. Lee served in the first Trump administration and has keen insights into what a second Trump administration will do and how they will accomplish their stated trade goals.  As the situation evolves, Lee is closely monitoring developments and will be able to discuss the potential impacts.
