Meet us at the newly opened “The Schnitzel Lot” in Phenix City. The restaurant is German-owned and operated by our AGP member German Food, Gifts, and More. Please fill up the car with family (kid-friendly event) and friends and make it a road trip. German is encouraged but not required.
They will be offering 3 different lunch options for the group. If interested, there will also be an opportunity to shop for German items like: chocolates, candies, Nutcrackers & Smokers, traditional Oktoberfest outfits and accessories, and other German goodies.

Following the German federal election in February 2025, the conservative CDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany), led by Friedrich Merz, won the German election. Earlier this month, a new coalition was formed consisting of CDU/CSU (Christian Social Union in Bavaria) and SPD (Social Democratic Party of Germany).

Elena will discuss the recent German federal election results, the new coalition government formed by CDU/CSU and SPD, and key political figures, including Friedrich Merz. Topics will also include AfD (Alternative for Germany), the agenda of the new coalition, tariffs, and transatlantic trade relations.

We meet every month (every other month is in Birmingham). Monika Müller at the Nook will serve German Jägerschnitzel, Pan-Fried Potatoes, and Cucumber Salad. The Nook has a large selection of 400+ beers— 80 of them on draft (36 local). Please note that the fee includes one dinner, tax, and gratuities.
