AGP A Conversation with Don Erwin @ ZOOM Webinar
Jan 7 @ 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm

Join us for a conversation with Don Erwin. He has a long career in Economic Development in Alabama and published his first novel “Buffalo Hunting in Alabama” in October 2020. We will talk about it all on: Thursday, January 7, 2021, 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., Zoom Webinar

 About the book

“How far will states and communities go to attract mega-projects that offer thousands of good jobs and tens of millions in tax revenue? Ezra Drake finds out when he’s recruited to help Alabama lure a giant pharmaceutical plant. Years ago, Ezra left Alabama for the Ivy League and a job in Germany. He’s now a fast-riser on Wall Street. A turn of events puts him back in Alabama as part of an elite team that lures mega-projects to energize the economy. Mercedes-Benz, Airbus, and other mega-projects had transformed the state. Alabama wants more. Call it buffalo-hunting or smokestack-chasing, Ezra’s team understands it’s all about recruiting talent and companies to successfully compete in the modern economy. Instead of firearms, Ezra’s team hunts with Big Data and persuasion. Competing against other cities and states is tough, but Ezra finds it even tougher battling forces who want to keep Alabama as it is and was, and not what it might become. Will Ezra and Alabama succeed in winning the pharma mega-project? Will Ezra find success and happiness in Alabama?”

You can find the book on Amazon.com.

AGP International Holocaust Remembrance Day @ ZOOM Webinar
Feb 4 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Join us for recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day with our guest speaker Ann Mollengarden from the Birmingham Holocaust Education Center:

Thursday, February 4, 2021
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Zoom Webinar

January 27th marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. The United Nations General Assembly have designated this day as International Holocaust Remembrance Day, an annual day of commemoration to honor the victims of the Nazi era. The U.N. resolution that created International Holocaust Remembrance Day rejects denial of the Holocaust and condemns discrimination and violence based on religion or ethnicity.

Our guest speaker, Ann Mollengarden, has dedicated her life to educating others about the events of the Holocaust, and in particular, her father’s story as a Holocaust survivor. She has served as the Education Coordinator of the Birmingham Holocaust Education Center (BHEC) since its inception in 2002 and has traveled internationally to continue her studies.

Ann has compiled a 60-minute multi-media presentation, rich with historical detail and familial anecdotes that tells the story of Robert May and his family that lived in Camberg, Germany, just outside of Frankfurt.

Robert came from a Jewish family deeply entrenched in German culture. His relatives fought in the Franco-Prussian War and World War I. But when Hitler came to power and Robert was in the third grade, life abruptly changed. This is a story of the family. A family that stuck together and tried to endure. A family that was torn apart by the Nazi regime.

Don’t miss this important talk about Holocaust.

This presentation is kid/family-friendly.
