AGP Stammtisch & Oktoberfest in Birmingham @ Brät Brot Biergarten
Oct 1 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Come join us for AGP “Stammtisch” every first Tuesday of the month.  This month of October we will already start at 5 p.m. to attend Brät Brot’s Oktoberfest kickoff by Tapping of the Keg with Tom Soehn, Head Coach of Birmingham Legion (professional soccer). Lederhosen and Dirndl is optional.

What does “Stammtisch” mean? A Stammtisch is an informal group meeting held on a regular basis, and also the usually large table around which the group meets. A Stammtisch is not a structured meeting, but rather a friendly and casual get-together.

This is a great opportunity for German expats to meet and for other German speaking/practicing to improve your German. Speaking German is encouraged but not required.

Bröt Brot has a great selection of beverage and food for purchase. Please note the venue has 21+ age requirement.

German Worship Services in Tuscaloosa @ First Presbyterian Church
Oct 6 @ 11:00 am

First Presbyterian Deutsch

German Worship Services are led by Reverend Thomas Herwig, parish associate on the first Sunday of each month, unless otherwise indicated, at 11:00 a.m. in the Westervelt-Warner Chapel. An informal gathering with coffee and cookies follows each service.

About

Begun in December 2008, First Presbyterian Deutsch is a project not only for Germans, but also for those who speak and understand German, or who are simply interested in German culture and language.

In addition to worship, First Presbyterian Deutsch offers all pastoral duties including confirmation classes, pastoral care and hospital visitation, German-speaking children’s afternoons, topical discussion groups including Bible study groups and social and cultural activities.

Everyone is invited to take part in the planning Workgroup, which normally meets the Tuesday evening following a worship service at 7:00 p.m. at the church.

If you would like to be informed about further events with an email or a postcard, please contact the church office at (205) 752-3531.
