Professional Overview

Bakari Miller serves as Vice President, Business Development for the Economic
Development Association of Alabama (EDPA). In this role, he works with the EDPA
team and other economic development allies across Alabama to execute targeted
business attraction and recruitment strategies.

Before transitioning to EDPA, Bakari enjoyed a successful career as an Institutional 
Trust Strategist for Regions Financial Corporation where he supported commercial bankers within the North Central Alabama area. For much of his career, Bakari served within Wealth Management, where he rendered investment advice and financial planning services to individuals and businesses.

Bakari is a native of Columbia, South Carolina, a Stillman College graduate, and received his M.B.A. from the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. With his greatest passion being baseball, he served four years as President of the Southside Ball Association- the same league in which he played as a child.

Bakari was recently appointed to serve on the board of the Economic 
Development Association of Alabama (EDAA). In addition, he serves on the board of Pathways Inc., Mainstreet Alabama, and the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Collat School of Business.

He enjoys golfing, traveling, and often tackling do-it-yourself projects around the house, which makes their dogs take cover whenever they see a 
toolbox.
