The Alabama International Trade Center is an outreach program at The University of Alabama’s Office for Research & Economic Development, offered as part of UA’s mission to provide teaching, research, and service to the state’s entrepreneurs and the small business community. Established in 1979, AITC provides no-cost, confidential, one-on-one assistance to Alabama’s small business community to help them start exporting, grow international sales, develop supply chain strategies, evaluate export financing options, and navigate trade logistics. The Trade Center is part of the Alabama Small Business Development Center Network (ASBDC), the state’s largest small business advising program, serving over 2,000 clients per year. AITC is a member of the Export Alabama Alliance and operates as a federal-state partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, promoting SBA’s export financing programs in Alabama.
