This talk will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in “Brock Forum”. “Brock Forum” is on the first floor of Dwight Beeson Hall in the center of campus, near the library and main fountain at Samford University in Homewood.,
Dr. Peter Buhrmann directs the Association of Rural Folk High Schools (Volkshochschulen) in Germany. A Danish citizen working in Berlin, he oversees forty-six residential schools that are financed by the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth as well as the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. In his talk, Dr. Buhrmann will explain how these schools seek to address radicalism and educate the German people to ensure the stability of democracy in increasingly divisive times.
